ABOUT THE ARTIST - - Beth Frizzell

Beth Frizzell has been using fabric as the medium for her artistic expression for over ten years. She has a strong sense of color and design. She is a self-taught fabric artist and her work is always fresh and unique. She specializes in the art quilt, but also makes long-lasting quilts for use as a wall hanging, table runner, bedcover or as framed art. Some of her designs were made by client request, though most are her creations reflecting the technique or style she was exploring at the time of the piece. Each item offered is a unique quality piece, handmade in a smoke-free environment. Each custom design begins with a hand drawn picture to work out color placement and design details. Once the 100% quality cotton has been selected and the fabric washed, it is cut and pieced following the custom design. When the entire quilt top is completed, the custom quilting design is machine-stitched using a consistent stitch to create a beautiful long-lasting and durable piece. Beth's work has been for sale in several shops in Houston and Austin, Texas, as well as art fairs around the state. She has had pieces in the Austin Area Quilt Show each year. Several of her pieces have been featured on DIY's show "Uncommon Threads". (click here for more). Most recently, her work was shown in the Texas Fiber Arts Museum exhibit at the Texas State Capital in May of 2007. Beth has recently released her new line of baby gifts under the name Sweet B. Quilts. These items will be available only on this website. Beth is currently working on her new book, which should be ready for publication in the near future. Watch this website for updates.
